  • Over the work period of March 8 - March 21, give a description of the work conducted by your team and the progress made on your project

During the time frame of March 8 through March 21, the team has been primarily focused on completing the build of the rover. The team has been working through setbacks in the circuitry of the rover as well as grip for the custom made wheels of the rover. As of today, the team is behind schedule on the build of the rover. The team is projecting to make up the time over the next two weeks by focusing the next five days on completing the rover and rapidly start the testing of the device after that and hope to have the testing of the ASTM testing of the rover complete by April 6th. This will be a quick turnaround but to get back on track the team will have to meet this goal.

  • For the same work period, discuss any challenges or obstacles (technical or non-technical) that your team has faced. Follow up by explaining the solution implemented or your plan to address the challenge.

The main issue the team has been facing problems getting the ESCs to work appropriately on the rover. These issues have led to all four motors of the rover not operating together which has made the rover lose valuable power. This issue has led to the team acquiring new ESCs which has made the team get behind schedule in the plan for the rover. The team is hoping the new ESCs work and are currently in the process of installing it. The team has also spent time fixing the gearbox/motor housing on the device, so the gears do not slip during movement of the device.

  • Describe the current status of your Team's Validation Plan implementation.  If possible, provide some preliminary results and explain how the results relate to a project goal or a design expectation.

The current status of our Team’s validation plan is behind schedule as discussed above. The team does not have any preliminary results from Validation testing but has driven the device around and has shown it to have speed expected from the team (3 m/s).

  • Give at least 3 figures that are representative of the current status of your project.  Explain these figures and their importance to your work.
